Geocache Description:

Geocaching has really grown here in Oak Creek. As a way to give back to the community, you are welcome to join us for a Cache In, Trash Out event on April 14th.

The wonderful Oak Leaf Trail passes through Oak Creek. The section along Hwy 38, south of Oakwood Road is in need of our clean-up effort.

CHECK IN: 9:00 AM

CHECK IN LOCATION: Intersection of Oak Leaf Trail and Hwy. 38 (Follow the coordinates.)

CLEAN-UP TIME: 9:00-11:30 AM

Parking can be found at the WP coordinates below, or along Hwy. 38.

Geocachers will need to sign a liability waiver form when they sign in (or print it out here). It is also suggested that you bring along your own work gloves. Garbage bags will be provided.

There are some permanent caches the along the trail: GCXRB4 One Degree of Separation - The Senior Searchers and GCYFJB Lemony Snicket's Cache of Unfortunate Events and there will also be temporary caches set up for this event.

At 11:30, we'd like to get together for a group photo and some great door prizes.

Please post a "will attend" note and indicate how many will be coming.

Thank you to Doug Schachtner, the Director of Oak Creek's Park and Rec, for his help in organizing this event and Guy Smith, the Milwaukee County Trails Director for granting permission.

4/12/07 - Note: We are still on for this weekend, even after the snow yesterday. Some trash may be covered, but most of the big stuff will still be visible. Please be careful parking along Hwy. 38 with the snow piles and/or mud.
