Cornwall's newest Tin Mine.
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This is a drive-by cache with possible parking at rear of Engine House, near a bench.
This engine house was built around the turn of the century (21st) and is just off the B3297 Redruth to Helston road. This mine was the least profitable in the county and No minerals were ever brought to the surface after it was built, in fact the engine house was never fitted with a pump engine. To my knowledge the mine was never given a name - perhaps visitors could suggest a suitable name for it when you log your find.
The cache container is a small 200ml lock & lock box, just room for log-book, pen & pencil and the odd geo-coin.
This is a very busy road and you will be in view of all passing traffic and they will be wondering what on earth you are doing there! So stealth is needed when searching for and replacing the cache - hence 2.5 diff fating.
Please hide well when replacing - Thanks.
Due to coins going missing on two occasions- please DO NOT PUT COINS IN THIS CACHE.
