Geocache Description:

placed by an old tree. remember a pencil, and becareful- there are a lot of traffic.

A little local history can be told:
In a field east of Vordingborg yet seen the last living of the original six 'curved oak' - or Valdemarsegene as they were previously known. Of the initial fighting up to the current road to Nyråd is only one skeleton back. This now obsolete oak was once known for its flat, withered crown.

And it is said that if you trap the wood will burn Vordingborg. Precisely for this tree, according to tradition, to Valdemar IV of Denmark once tied his horse. A horseshoe of unknown provenance was indeed until recently hammered fast to the dead tree. And formerly highly controversial rumors that had seen ghosts around the trees, which only owls completely without fear dared to approach after dark.

I believe that we have planted a new oak on the ground beside the tree as a 'reserve' if now the last oak one day pass ...
