1/3 to 1/2 of the way up Stone Mountain.
Terrain requires some stamina.
The cache is completely hidden in a crack with four to six inches of "litter" (leaves, etc.) on top of it.
*Update 3/23/07: Original cache has been muggled. I have replaced the cache a short distance away from the original to avoid those hunting a nearby Letterbox. If you find a small tupperware container Please note it is not the cache. You are seeking a no leak container hidden in a similar way as the original cache. If you have hunted this cache before and would like to again you are welcome to another smiley.
*Original cache listing*
My wife and I hike around Stone Mountain fairly often. I decided to check on my other Stone Mountain cache and place a more "challenging" one.The stash is a tupperware container just larger than a CD case and about five times as deep. So don't plan to stuff anything in it larger than a CD.
Note: The picture above may be needed to find this cache. Note: Please do not replace the container with a larger one. Only replace the container if it is in poor shape. Do feel free to leave a new log book if the current one is full.
The stash contains a DVD (Backdraft), a CD (Journey's Greatest Hits) and a CD-ROM (SimCity 2000).I placed the stash inside a crack/fissure in the granite about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up the mountain. It is totally hidden by 4 to 6 inches of litter.
The estimated accuracy of the lat/lon is +/- 9 ft.
Assuming my position is dead on and you can get to that position it should be possible to find the cache with the above description but it would be difficult at best (considering that even with my own stash, I've had the GPS reading vary +/- 80 ft). I would recommend printing or having someone else print the included pictures and the spoiler information. The spoiler information includes detailed information including trails that can be used and hints that might help locate the right spot.
