How Geocaching Works

You may notice the buildings down the hill. This is the Chanhassen office of the National Weather Service. If you happen to be seeking this cache at either 6:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. CDST (or 5:00 standard time) you may have an opportunity to see the meteorologists launch a weather balloon. They do this twice daily to collect atmospheric data. The small building with a big garage like door and big tank on top is the launch building. Happy caching. Bring a pencil! P.S. You can visit the Chanhassen Weather Service website at: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/mpx/
