Latest Update, 11/29/21: With the loss of the tree that brought me here for this hide (see Gallery), the original cache and both waypoints have now been tweaked since seldom|seen cut his foot wading in the water for the FTF. The final goes up in size a bit, contains a nifty large glowing ghost coin, and the hide is much changed though wp1 remains the same. The hint has been modified as well, and the D/T are a little more and less, but they will remain the same so as not to undo any grids. Cache on, yet again....
Seldom Entered|Often Seen is a multi-cache located near the Neenah Slough. Finders, PLEASE be sure to put the containers back securely. If in doubt, send me an e-mail so I can check on the stability of the hides.
This cache is a two-part multi germination of Seldom Seed|Spawn of Sataim that incorporates a nano (a matchstick container in the 4/12 upgrade) in an urban kind of hide (fixed that problem too), and a camouflaged micro final in a wilder setting (wild, but no longer wilder). It is also a minor tribute to the diversity of a more accomplished cache hider known as seldom|seen. His caches have presented an irresistible challenge and have stimulated an ongoing interest in trying to come up with hides of my own that delight or enlighten, or sometimes even exasperate (nah, don't do that any more, add thrill to the list though, courtesy of the old man).
The first spot picked for the nano was already occupied by a snake, so not as wild a spot was selected for waypoint 1 (much wilder now). The final is closer to the slough itself (and it still is), where you may spot a mallard and goose family with their ducklings and goslings, muskrat, carp and other fish species, white egrets, great blue herons, deer, and, of course, snakes. Deer passed by just feet away from the final while it was being placed.
The cache name observes that many people drive by daily and view this slough from their cars, yet few ever stop to take a closer look at the abundance of life in this wild area surrounded by urban sprawl. So, in another sense it is really seldom seen.
Access to WP1 is by roadside parking along Jewelers Park Drive which is off Harrison Street.
It is not necessary to enter the waters of the slough to retrieve the final. Entry to the slough for purposes of this cache means entering the eco-system surrounding the waterway itself.
