ENG: Cache is located in territory of Lindes manor.
LAT: Meklejiet Lindes muižu!

ENG: Imagine - summer day of 1769. Landlord Georg Friedrich von Plettenberg along with his daughter Sofie Elizabeth stays on the balcony of their new manor-house with a view on river Daugava and enjoys mild summer morning. Through elegant and modern porte-cochere which was built last year calm flow of Daugava is seen, near soughs Holland lime-trees in the wind. These trees are planted with the roots up – so their look is quite strange. But - sic transit gloria mundis – there isn’t white manor house anymore, only lime-trees soughs in the wind and porte-cochere invite turn your look further to river Daugava. Once splendid porte-cochere now is in half-life period and soon it wouldn’t be there anymore and lime-trees will be only one witnesses of yesteryear’s splendour. Hurry to see it!

Lindes manor was founded in 1542 by Johann von Plettenberg. Mid 18th century and at the beginning of 19th century here was created wide housekeeping and park on four terraces. Porte-cochere was built in 1767 as a element of playful buildings of baroque. As a probably builder is mason-master Johann Adreass Haberland (1711-1788) who has built many manors in Latvia. Last owner of Lindes manor was baron P.K. Haahn. Manor-house was destroyed during World War I, only porte-cochere looks on this empty place. Lime-trees, planted with roots up, are only of this kind in whole Baltics and probably even in West Europe.
