Staying somewhat true to form, this cache is again located on some
of Waushara County's beautiful public hunting and fishing lands.
Parking location at 44 09.354N 089 14.372W off Badger Ave.
During your approximately 1.3 mile round trip hike, you will most
likely hear if not see some of the local wildlife. Birds,
squirrels, rabbits, deer and others frequent this area. You will
also be walking primarily down a pretty well defined trail as I
believe it is used in the winter for a snowmobile trail. The trees
are a mixture of Oak, Pine and others with Lilac and other
wildflowers along the way. In one clearing there is a large wild
raspberry patch. On one hillside there are several weathered boards
on the ground, suggesting that once a cabin stood there.
Pretty much something for everyone to see if they like the
outdoors.
Be sure to wear blaze orange if you must attempt this cache during
the hunting season.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Paul
Samerdyke, land manager for the Wautoma Service Center of the
Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resource managed lands require permission by means of a
notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the
notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it
to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager
information can be obtained here.
