Ruunavuori Traditional Geocache
VHI: Pitkähkön tuumauksen jälkeen päätin laittaa tämän arkistoon ja vapauttaa hienon kätköpaikan muiden kätkötettäväksi. Haen purkin pois kunhan ehdin.

Ruunavuori (163 m mpy) kuuluu Savonlinnan seudun korkeimpiin mäkiin. Laelta aukeaa hieno näköala liki 90 metriä alempana lainehtivalle Saimaan vesistöön kuuluvalle Pihlajavedelle. Ruunavuoren itärinteen laskettelurinteet ovat talvisin kovassa käytössä.
Kätkö sijaitsee Ruunavuoren laella. Kätkölle pääsee ympäri vuoden, mutta talvisin laskettelukaudella paikalla on paljon laskettelijoita ja itse kätkökin todennäköisesti lumen alla. Vuorelle pääsee parhaiten länsirinnettä kulkevaa radiomaston huoltotietä, joka on alhaalta puomilla suljettu eli auto on jätettävä tien alapäähän (N61 50.564 E28 50.198). Huoltotietä pitkin nousua on 50 m pystysuunnassa eli henkeä salpaa, mutta henkeä salpaavat ovat näkymätkin ylhäältä.
Ruunavuori hill (163 above the sea level) is one of the highest hills in Savonlinna area. On the top of it you can enjoy magnificent view over the landscape of Lake Pihlajavesi on the level almost 90 meters below. During winter season the eastern slopes of the hill are used for downhill skiing.
Cache is located on the top of Ruunavuori hill. The cache can be reached throughout the year, but during slalom season in winter there are lots of skiers around and the cache itself probably is covered by snow. The best way to climb Ruunavuori is along the small road on the western slope of the hill. Cars must be left to the lower end of the road (N61º 50.564 E28º 50.198'). Climbing the hill (50 m vertical) is breathtaking but so is the view from up there.
