How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The first in what I hope will be a series along the New Haven line on Metro North Railroad. The cache is within walking distance of the train station.
Welcome to Greenwich! The posted coordinates will bring you to the intersection at the bottom of Greenwich Avenue. Starting here, take a walk up The Avenue. Along your walk, you will need to find the location each picture was taken to determine the number hidden in the picture. When you have found all 6 numbers, use them to determine the final coordinates. All pictures can be found along Greenwich Avenue. There is no need to explore the side streets (unless something strikes your fancy!)
The final coordinates are:
N 41° 01.ABC W 073° 37.DEF
The cache is a small decon container. Please re-hide exactly as found. Please be sure the lid is on tight so it doesn't leak! Stealth may be required depending on when you seek this cache. Be aware of muggles when you are hunting. Cache was placed with 10 feet accuracy. FTF gets an unactivated Hogwild World Famous Travelling Geocoin. If you bring the kids along, be sure to reward them for their efforts by visiting nearby Bruce Park Playground (see additional waypoints for coordinates).
Thanks go out to HoppyFamily. Completing the Seven Corners Commuter Cache was the inspiration for this hide!
Safety Notes: The coordinates may appear to take you near Interstate 95. The cache is NOT along the interstate. It is also NOT on the railroad tracks so no need to look there. The area where the cache is located is not unsafe. Remember the terrain rating is only 1.5 stars. If you are unsure, e-mail me your coordinates and I will confirm them for you.
Parking is available along Greenwich Avenue and many of the side streets. There is also some parking available in the train station parking lots.
