Geocache Description:

dansk Dansk:

english English:

Køge Bugt highway was laid as a 6 track highway and opened for traffic September 12th 1972.
Today it is the most used highway in Denmark, with a 110.000 cars per day. There is daily added 12 more cars to that number and the road directorate expects that the number will pass 120.000 cars per day in the year 2010.

Before the highway was opened a series of bridges was laid, to ensure that traffic from Gammel Køge Landevej and Tåstrupvej could move freely across the highway. It was at bit of a chance, as the area at the time was at field without any houses.
No one really knew where bridges would be needed. So in fact there was a spare bridge.
It is at beautiful wide highway bridge, going from nothing to nothing.
Today there is a pedestrian path to and from the bridge, so maybe it is Denmark’s most exclusive and expensive pedestrian bridge?

So, if you like looking at cars and other means of transportation, this cache is for you.
It is not about lovely nature, but roaring traffic with a view from the “Spare Bridge”.

The cache is not placed on the highway it self. It is not allowed – and there is great risk in stopping on the highway.

About the cache:
The cache is a 0,3 l plastic container.
