This cache located on the grounds of Children's Square in Council
Bluffs, IA.
Children’s Square U.S.A. is a 125-year child and family serving
organization situated slightly north and east of the downtown
Council Bluffs, Iowa. Campus based programs include early childhood
care and education program, emergency shelter, residential
treatment, academic center school serving grades 1-12, counseling
programs for children and their families a day and
neighborhood/youth outreach activities group. Also based on the
campus are community based services including foster care, special
needs adoptions, runaway and homeless youth services and first time
offender drug and alcohol education classes. The Visitor Center was
completed in 1959 and originally served as the school and chapel.
It was converted to the Visitor Center in 1986. A 4800 square foot
addition was completed in March 2003. We invite you to review our
history, learn about our founding fathers, glance through photos of
the early buildings and grounds, and see some of our memorabilia on
display in the Lemen Visitor Center. Please enjoy the beautiful
stained glass windows in Children's Hall. In addition, photographs
are on display of a proposed sculpture honoring our founding event
which was a father bringing his three young daughters to Rev. and
Mrs. Lemen and asking them to take them in.
