I saw this
picture on the web, and I immediately thought that I'd like to
go see that place. I'd been very near there before, but never
noticed the little knob of Curtis Formation sandstone. I could
literally spend a couple of days exploring this area--I was bummed
that I didn't have more time to explore when I placed the cache,
but I already have plans to come back in a few weeks.
The hike up to the cache can be pretty tough if you're not used to
that kind of scrambling (you may need your feet and hands to
make it up). The cache is at the base of a small pinyon pine and
covered by rocks.
As for the name "Ketobe Knob," that's simply what the FHSU
Geosciences Department calls it. I'd like to know myself what it
means.
