Geocache Description:

This is a very interesting piece of Civil War history in Greene and Morgan County. The above coordinates take you to a place where you will get the information you will need to continue.Cache is in a water proof rubbermaid box ,in a small wash or ravine.

On Nov.15,1864,after destroying Atlanta,Maj.Gen.Sherman began his destructive campaign for Savannah.Along the way he and his troops burned and destroyed R.R. Bridges, cord wood, R.R. ties, cotton, and corn. The Left Wing____th and____th Corps commanded by Maj.Gen. Slocum and Brig.Gen.Williams led a path of destruction of the Ga. Railroad between Social Circle and Madison. Also Brig.Gen.John W. Geary burned a R.R. bridge ____ miles East of Madison. Add the numbers in these 3 blanks. The number you come up with is the last 2 numbers of the N Cords,33-32.9__ __. Now reverse these 2 numbers. This will be the last two numbers of your W Cords, 083-18.0__ __. Now let's do as all good commanders do.Let's double back to see if there is anything we missed. Have Fun!!
