Geocache Description:

This takes you to the edge of the Black River near North Bend. It is part of a series of geocaches along the Black River in this area.

A river in motion

The landing is on the old river channel near where it meets up with the primary channel of today. Some believe a new side channel is developing and will continue to grow over the years.

It's easy to canoe from Melrose to North Bend as a day trip or as an overnight river camping experience. Canoes can be rented in town complete with shuttle service up Hwy 54 to the Melrose boat landing. This boat launch isn't typically used for rentals as it is easier to end right in North Bend. This landing is used primary for fishing boats or people with their own canoes.

This geocache is registered with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

In periods of deep snow or high water this may become inaccessable.
