A pleasant and scenic stroll high above the Mississippi River, at Montissippi County Park!
This cache is hidden in Montissippi County Park, a 170-acre park in Monticello that features a boat launch, fishing pier, playground, and two miles of paved walking trails - most of which feature fantastic views as you stroll along the banks of the Mississippi River. Be sure to visit the other caches in this park, especially if planes are flying at the model airplane airport!
Location, Parking, and Access
The park entrance is clearly marked at County Road 75 and River Street, but the inner park roads won't match Google or your GPSr maps. Ample free and legal parking is available at the trailhead, at N 45° 19.571 W 093° 49.599. From there, it's a nice walk all the way to the end of the paved trail loop, where you'll find the cache waiting for you.
You are looking for a standard Lock 'n Lock container, hidden in the usual sort of place. Please pay attention to the terrain rating - it's not necessary to go down the hill, unless you want to just for fun! The cache starts out with assorted camping gear, small trinkets hand-selected from the 'Noles kidlet's personal collection, a $5 bill for the first finder, and a few trackables just for fun. I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I did...as always, have fun and happy hunting!
