Solrød Landsbykirke

Kirken er sognets ældste bygning fra omkring år 1200.
Som en del andre kirker i Østsjælland er kirken gulkalket, og - i følge traditionen - skyldes dette, at disse kirker hørte til Vallø Stift.

Solrød Kirke har i årenes løb haft mange forskellige ejere. Efter reformationen har den tilhørt Kronen, men har efter 1687 tilhørt forskellige private ejere. I 1795 blev den købt af Vallø Stift, og først i 1910 overgik den til selveje og blev afleveret til Solrød Sogn og menighedsråd.

Læg mærke til hvorledes det gamle træ og kirkemuren er "vokset sammen" tæt på cachens gemmested.

Solrød Village church

The church is the oldest building in the parish, is build around the year 1200.
As some of the other churches in east Zealand, the church is yellow washed, and – according to tradition – it is because these churches is a part of Vallø diocese.

Solrød church have had many owners during the years. Efter the reformation it belonged to the Crown, but after 1687 it has belonged to different private owners. In 1795 it was bought by Vallø diocese and did not until 1910 pass back to freehold and was surrendered to Solrød perish.

Notice how the old tree and churchwall is ”grown together” close to the caches hidingplace.
