Geocache Description:

Purple Heart

This year is the 75th Anniversary of the Purple Heart. Established by Executive Order of the President of the United States, the Purple Heart was revived on the 200th Anniversary of George Washington's birth, out of respect to his memory and military achievements, by War Department General Orders No. 3, dated 22 February 1932.

The Badge of Merit.

As always, more information is available with our good buddies at Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple_Heart (I gotta learn some html)

I found this appropriate tin and a place on the map that KB had not been, or is not currently active. Hehe. I have placed this cache in an area I feel is quite deserving of this memorial as the hide is well guarded with numerous spikey plants, sticky weeds, the obligatory hidden barbed wire, broken glass and eye pokey sticks. All approaches will leave ample opportunity for you to earn your Purpleish Heart. The mosquitoes will be bad. The ticks will be horrendous. Do not bring your kids. You will not have a good time. That is unless you are looking for true adventure, the opportunity to show that you do have what it takes to give your all for crappy trade items and sign a soggy log book.

If after your quest you feel you are deserving of further recognition. Submit your request in triplicate to Corporal Stevens. I don’t guarantee anything but he does like to hear good stories.
