Provisoriamente recebeu crianças do sexo feminino, sendo o atendimento ampliado a crianças do sexo masculino e, posteriormente, a mulheres.
EN: 1900 - The Queen commands that the Sanatorium is constructed, being the hospital buildings in the place of the old casemates. The Sanatorium takes care of the cases of bone and ganglionar tuberculosis. For some time they received little girls, later extended to boys and, later, to women.

PT: Não é possível visitar o farol nem o interior do forte, sem uma autorização especial. No entanto, pode-se visitar sem qualquer problema a parte mais baixa do forte. Para isso, deverá entrar pelo acesso à entrada do hospital. Pouco abaixo da guarda, encontra para a direita uma entrada larga, para o hospital, e à esquerda uma porta mais pequena, que dá acesso à parte baixa do forte, junto ao mar.
EN: You can't visit either the fortress or the lighthouse, unless you have a special authorization. However, the lowest part of the fortress can be visited without any problem. For this, you will have to enter by the access to the hospital. A little ahead of the guard, you'll find to the right a wide entrance, to the hospital, and to the left a smaller door, that gives access to the lower part of the fort, next to the sea.
