Geocache Description:

Mosen startede oprindeligt nord for motorvejen.

The moor at Hjulby is a great area - you may use the roads crossing thru the area and expirience the area dryfooted. But it is not the quiet of the woods one should seek here.
Originally the moor started north of the freeway. The would have avoided to put the freeway thru the moor, but because of the further linedrawing of the freeway, this was not possible. All of the moor should, in the complete width of the road, be removed until solid ground was reached. This is the place in Denmark where most soil has been removed to build a road. 23,60 meters was meassured from the deepest place to the surface of the earth.
The low swampy grassfields, the water in the moor and the dense bush is like a magnet to the animal life - great nature expierences are possible. Not only animals are attracted to this area. According the the historians, a royal farm should have been in the area - though the remains was never found. If you stumble over a pole hole, please log the coordinates.
