How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority has been partnered up with the Detroit Zoo along with the Belle Isle Nature Zoo since 1972. Belle Isle has had caches on the island for years and it is a great way for us geocachers to give back. For our help The Belle Isle Nature Zoo will be feeding us all after the clean up.
This clean up is in conjunction with the parks scheduled Earth Day clean up. We will be working with other volunteers as this event is published in the Huron-Clinton Metroparks brochures.
Meet us at the nature center at 11:30.
Like all Cito events you should be sure to bring old clothes for the clean up and a change of clothes for afterwards. We hope that some of our Canadian friends can come across as well, all are welcome.
Clean up begins at 12:00 and we will work until 2:00.
After 2:00 we will be meeting for the picnic.
Be sure to bring those things that can make the job easier for you. Some of the things you may want to bring with you is; sturdy gloves (surgical and canvas gloves are provided), mechanical trash picker (some available from the park) and most important is 5 gallon buckets as they work very well for sharp or glass items.
Please log if you will be attending before April 14th. This is so we have plenty of food. You will still be welcome and we will feed you if you log after that date, this will just help the park out.
