Geocache Description:

This cache is another choice cut from from King Boreas' Jukebox Hero! The first cache fell victim to a wood chipper in Plymouth, but the song has been re-released in Hopkins so that the King can live on!

Song Details

"Suspicious Minds" was the 18th and final #1 hit recorded by Elvis Presley while he was still alive. It was a huge comeback song for Elvis, as it had been seven years since his last #1 hit, and is viewed as the single that re-jump-started his career. Rolling Stone later ranked it #91 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and in 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The song was originally written by Memphis singer Mark James, who recorded and released his own version, but it went nowhere. Memphis Soul producer Chips Moman then brought the song to Elvis, who immediately fell in love with it and decided he could turn it into a hit.

This track was recorded between 4 and 7 in the morning at Moman's American Sound Studios in January 1969. The music produced during this landmark Memphis session is widely regarded as some of Elvis' best-sounding work, and it helped Evis reclaim the title of "The King" at last.
