I thought it would be fun to see how many new cache sites I could find near to Mills in my local area. These will include Watermills and Windmills, some still in use, some now used for other purposes. Most mills are sited in nice surroundings, so I hope you will enjoy visiting them. I will be adding new caches to this series over the next few months.
All the micros are hidden right on public footpaths. None of them will be very close to private houses. Some of them are near public highways, but many are along private roadways, with only footpath access. Please park considerately, and do not drive along any private roads to access the caches.
Cockhaise Mill – The old mill, now a private house, is on the public road, with no footpath close by, so I have placed the micro a little further upstream, on a footpath that starts by Cockhaise Farm. By the cache the footpath runs along the top of an earth bank, which I think may have been a dam at one time, perhaps for a mill pond.
