A cache along the Zane Gray Trail in Wilder Ranch
On a clear fogless afternoon in Wilder Ranch, I was hiking along the Zane Gray Trail when, as I turned a bend in trail, I saw a bobcat trotting along about 30 yards ahead of me. How fun and exciting! The bobcat turned its head to look back at me 3 or 4 times as we ambled along in the same direction before it finally decided it had had enough of my company. It left the trail for the cover of the tall golden summer grasses.
I left this cache nearby to mark the experience.
While not a logging requirement for finding the cache, should you see any wildlife during your hike (even a whitetail bunny,) please make a note of such in your log.
Enjoy! And happy caching!
