### Geocache Description:

It is one of the caches set up for the "CITO IT IN SOLIHULL" event in May 2008.

The cache is not at the listing co-ordinates but is somewhere in The Shire Country Park. Unlike a hobbit, it is not to be found in a hole in the ground! To find where it is you need to find the answers to the following 8 questions from J.R.R. Tolken’s book “The Hobbit”.

a = The rune for ‘th’ is a bit like a triangular flag on a pole! How many times does it appear in the dwarf-map in the section under the hand pointing to the secret door in The Lonely Mountain (which was too small for Smaug to creep into, even when he was a young dragon)?
b = Number of letters in the place where Bilbo, Thorin and Gandalf had a ‘short rest’ (Chapter iii)
c = How many ‘T’ s in the name that spiders don’t like being called ? (Chapter viii Flies and Spiders)
d = The book was first published in 193?
e = The number of letters you are left with when you take Thursday’s pagan god away from the dwarf who made the map which has East at the top.
f = Half the number of words in the alternative title to the book
g = The number of letters in Gollum’s answer to the following riddle from Chapter (v) Riddles in the Dark.
“A box without hinges, key or lid
Yet golden treasure inside is hid”
h = The number of chapters in the book minus the number of letters in Bilbo’s mother’s first name.
