Geocache Description:

**CACHE IS NOT AT LISTED COORDINATES**

This is my first cache hidden, and hopefully not the last!

This is a combination two stage, puzzle cache. But not to worry, it isn't a hard puzzle, all you have to do is get a name and do some math. At the listed coordinates you will find an artesian spring with a shut-off handle. On this handle is the name you need. To find the coordinates for the second and final stage complete this formula:

Convert the name on the handle into a number using standard encryption, ie. A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. That number will be X

N 44 46.((X*3) + 387)

W 093 23.(733 - (X*2))

The second stage is not a hard find, but is located nearby since the artesian spring itself is located in a National Wildlife Refuge where physical caches are not allowed. You will have to drive to the final stage as there is a freeway and railroad tracks in between. Seek a camo covered plastic peanut jar. There is room for small Travel Bugs and trading items.

As a young boy, I often visited this area. There was an abandoned farm with an artesian spring. The farm is long gone, all that really remains are some foundations and a set of steps leading to large trees. The spring remains however, so feel free to stop and have a drink as you find the cache. Just a short hike away is Rice Lake where you can find a large number and variety of waterfowl.
