Geocache Description:

Side Tracked caches have become a nationwide series of caches for public transport users. They are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at or nearby railway stations. Caches can be found close to stations of the national rail network and well as heritage railways.

The station is served by local services operated by First Great Western from London Paddington to Reading, Bedwyn and Oxford and Heathrow Connect services from Paddington to London Heathrow Airport.

It is on Isambard Kingdom Brunel's former Great Western Main Line running out of London Paddington to the Thames Valley, Bristol, South Wales and the West Country. The line was opened in the 1830s, initially running to Maidenhead Riverside to allow completion of the famous brick arch bridge over the Thames just west of the riverside station. Hayes and Harlington is one of the original stations.
