I was asked to place a new one for a CIRO (Cache in Recycle Oout)
by -cheeto- event in Jones Park and happily agreed. Curious about
how much clean-up the park needed, I took a walk down there the
other day to discover that there is a ton, literally, of trash
lying around. I find it amazing that an urban park can accumulate
this much garbage?
So thanks, -cheeto-, for organizing this CIRO event in an effort to
REDUCE the trash in Jones Park. I can appreciate how litter gets
blown around in a cityscape and eventually gets hung up in places
like this, but what I don't understand is why there seems to be so
many recycleable
containers in the mix?
Take a look at the picture above and tell me you don't see a whole
bunch of stuff that can be recycled. I mean, how hard is it to
carry your empty Lemon-Lime Mist soda can back home to your recycle
bin rather than tossing it into the woods? Not only that, but I
found a bunch of stuff that I could REUSE like hard plastic water
bottles, jewel cases and even a tiny little ammo can... wonder why
that's here...
So, when you're out there in the area urban and rural parks picking
up garbage as you do your caching, just remember that some of it
isn't garbage and needs to make its way to the RECYCLE bin and not
the rubbish tip, or better yet, back to your workbench to become a
new cache container...like the final of this cache! (Thanks
