Cette série de 7 caches va vous permettre de parcourir la vallée de Cheylade.
Une des belles vallées qui rayonnent depuis le Puy Mary.
La source qui a donné son nom à la Font-Sainte fut probablement le lieu d'un culte druidique.
Après la christianisation le culte de la Vierge succéda au culte de l'eau.
La tradition raconte qu'une statue de la Vierge fut rapportée d'orient au début du XIIème siècle par les seigneurs d'Apchon.
Cette statue aurait été placée dans un modeste oratoire, là où l'eau jaillit d'un rocher.
C'est en 1835 que débuta la construction d'une chapelle. Elle fut bénie en 1837 et devint un lieu de pèlerinage.
La petite Vierge des bergers, Vierge transhumante, reste tout l'été sur les hauts pâturages, puis redescend l'hiver dans l'église de Saint-Hippolyte.
Le pèlerinage de la Font-Sainte a lieu le 15 Août.

Rendez-vous à la chapelle (WP ci-dessus). Un ustensile vous permet de prendre un peu de cette eau pure et fraîche aux vertus miraculeuses.

This set of 7 caches is going to allow you to travel through the "Cheylade" valley.
One of the beautiful valleys that radiates since the "Puy Mary" mountain.
The source that gave its name to the Font-Sainte was probably the place of a druid cult.
After the christianization the Virgin's cult followed the water's cult.
The tradition tells that the Virgin's statue was returned of orient in the beginning of the XIIème century by the Lords of "Apchon" village.
This statue would have been placed in a modest oratorical, where water springs of a rock.
It is in 1835 that started the construction of a chapel. it was blessed in 1837 and became a place of pilgrimage.
The small Virgin of the shepherds remains all the summer on the high grazings, comes down again then the winter in the church of "Saint-Hippolyte" village.
The pilgrimage of the Font-Sainte takes place August 15.

Appointment to the chapel (WP above). An utensil allows you to take a little this pure and cool water to the miraculous virtues.
