Geocache Description:

dansk Dansk:

I tårnet er opsat tavler over områdets fugle.

Om cachen:

Havdrup Mose – Bird tower

Roskilde County has in 1999 constructed a bird tower just outside Havdrup Mose (Havdrup Bog). From a parking lot (See waypoint) by Hastrupvej, between Gammel Havdrup and Snoldelev-Hastrup, a dirt road leads to the bog, where there is a path to the tower. The bog is fenced in, and is used for grazing, but there is public access through 3 stiles.

Havdrup Mose is a protected area, together with the nearby Snoldelev Mose. There is also public access to Snoldelev Mose by way of a dirt road, which runs from Hastrupvej, between Snoldelev and Snoldelev-Hastrup.
Both bogs are furthermore designated as EF bird protection areas; this means that they need special protection.

Tables and benches are set up around the bird tower.

From the tower it is possible to observe the many birds of the area; this includes native and migratory birds. Mergansers, pochards, swans, lapwings, graylag geese, common snipes, marsh harriers, and sparrowhawks can all be seen. In the tower there are boards describing the area’s birds.

About the cache:
