These woods are home to an amazing variety of wildlife, considering their urban setting. Birdin' has spotted upwards of 80 species of birds hiking these trails; whitetail deer can often be startled from their beds as one hikes. Gray squirrels are a given in the brush. Recently, the Coulee Audubon Club spotted a good-sized black bear foraging on the trails, completely upstaging any birds sighted that morning!
As you head about a tenth of the mile up the Rotary Ridge Trail, keep your eyes peeled for signs of the abundant wildlife here. If you're persistent and keep your eyes open, it may pay off!
Thanks to Kendog for this seed cache, the realization of a dream for us. He's just so darn clever! Once you find the cache, please take the time to replace it exactly as found, so that others may enjoy the same experience you've just had. Oh, and bring your own pencil!
