ducktoad: We are truly sorry to but in order to protect this jewel our family has decided to archive this one. Recently, one of the historic buildings was vandalized and last year the windows were broken out of the farm house. I do not know why people need to destroy historic sites like this.

If you have any knowledge of who did this please contact Law Enforcement Officer, Eric Nelson, at 605-673-9307. There is a $500 reward being offered by the Black Hills Historical Society for information leading to an arrest.

Geocache Description:

A cache is located in a walk-in area near Custer, SD. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THE CULTURAL RESOURCES IN THE AREA.

To get to the cache, take Willow Creek Road east from Custer. The county road will eventually turn to a Forest System Road. There is a parking area near the closer gate. The journey to the cache is about a half mile one way down the road. There are signs along the way that may lead you to believe this cache is on private land but it is newly aquired public land. Be mindful of where you walk in the area near the cache.
