| AERÓDROMO DE PORTIMÃO |

HISTÓRIA
O Aeródromo Municipal de Portimão é propriedade da
Câmara Municipal e faz parte integrante da Rede Secundária de
Aeródromos Civis Portugueses (sob o código LPPM).
Foi construído pela Câmara Municipal de Portimão com a
colaboração do sector da Indústria Hoteleira e iniciou a sua
actividade em 27 de Agosto de 1971. Só mais tarde, em 1987/89,
sofreu obras de melhoramento, nomeadamente pavimentação da pista e
da placa de estacionamento em tapete betuminoso, bem como a
construção da aerogare e dos hangares que lhe deram a configuração
e operacionalidade actual. |

Assim, reabriu remodelado em 20 de Março de 1989, com
capacidade para servir o tráfego de aviões ligeiros e de
helicópteros, designadamente da aviação privada e de negócios, de
transporte aéreo, trabalho aéreo diversificado (publicidade aérea,
voos de observação panorâmica, fotografia e filmagem aérea,
lançamento de paraquedistas, verificação e limpeza de linhas de
alta tensão, buscas e salvamento), transporte sanitário e
emergência médica e apoio em situações de acidente grave,
catástrofes ou calamidades públicas. Permite também a prática de
actividades desportivas e de lazer (paraquedismo e
aeromodelismo). |

Ao longo dos anos têm vindo sucessivamente a ser
melhoradas as suas instalações e meios técnicos assim como
preparados e formados os recursos humanos que ali trabalham, tendo
em vista garantir maior eficiência, operacionalidade e
segurança.
Várias empresas de transportes e serviços aéreos,
incluindo a manutenção de aeronaves, instalaram-se no Aeródromo
e desempenham a sua actividade:
- Aero Algarve, Serviços Aéreos, Lda.;
- Aero Vip, Companhia de Transportes e Serviços Aéreos,
Lda.;
- Aero Vilamoura, Transportes Aéreos e Serviços, Lda.;
- Sky Zone, Administração e Gestão Aeronáutica, Lda..
No aeródromo de Portimão encontra-se também o Aero Clube
de Portimão, onde tem instalações e aeronaves. |

As condições físicas da infra-estrutura são as
suficientes para a operação aérea segundo as regras de voo visual,
não sendo permitidos voos nocturnos (opera entre o nascer e o pôr
do Sol). A situação geográfica e as condições meteorológicas
normais são satisfatórias para esta actividade.
Nos últimos cinco anos, durante o período de Inverno, o
Aeródromo recebe a visita de clubes de paraquedismo de vários
países da Europa que, durante a época de menor tráfego aéreo,
ali desenvolve esta actividade desportiva. Esta modalidade é mais
um pólo de atracção turística que congrega cerca de duas centenas
de praticantes nacionais e estrangeiros que se instalam na
região.
Presentemente verificam-se, neste aeródromo cerca de
11.500 movimentos (Aterragens + Descolagens) de
aeronaves/ano.

A CACHE
A cache está situada fora do perímetro do
Aeródromo.
A cache consiste num tupperware com 18x18x19 cms, dentro
dum saco do lixo preto. |

| AERODROME OF PORTIMÃO |
|
HISTORY
The Municipal Aerodrome of Portimão is property of the
City council and is integrant part of the Secondary Net of
Portuguese Civil Aerodromes (with the code LPPM). It was
constructed by the City council of Portimão with the contribution
of the Hotel Industry sector and initiated its activities in 27 of
August of 1971. Only later, in 1987/89, it suffered works with
improvements, like pavement of the runway and the apron in
bituminous carpet, as well as the construction of the terminal and
the hangars that gave the present configuration and current
operationality. |

Thus, it reopened remodelled in 20 of March of 1989,
with capacity to serve light aircraft traffic and helicopters,
especially private and business airplanes, air transportation,
diversified aerial work (aerial advertising, sightseeing flights,
photograph and aerial filming, parachute launching, verification
and cleaning of high-voltage lines, searches and rescue), sanitary
transport and medical emergency and support in situations of
serious accident, public catastrophes or calamities. It also allows
the practise of sport and recreational activitie (parachuting and
aeromodelling). |

Along the years its facilities have been improved as
well as technical means and local workers have been trained and
upgraded in order to provide better eficiency, operations and
safety.
Some transport and air service companies, including
maintenance of aircraft, had been installed in the Aerodrome and
work there:
- Aero Algarve, Air services, Lda.;
- Aero Vip, Transports and Air services Company, Lda.;
- Aero Vilamoura, Air transportation and Services, Lda.;
- Sky Zone, Administration and Aeronautical Management,
Lda..
At the Aerodrome of Portimão we can also find the
Portimão Air Club, with their facilities and
airplanes. |

Physical conditions of the infrastructure are adequate
for flights under Visual Flight Rules, with night flights not
allowed (it operates between sunrise and sunset). The geographic
situation and the normal meteorological conditions are satisfactory
for this activity.
In the last five years, during the Winter period, the
Aerodrome receives the visit from parachuting clubs of some
countries of the Europe that, during this time of lesser air
traffic, undertake their leisure activities. This
modality is another turistic atraction point that congregates about
two hundreds of national and foreign practitioners that install in
the region.
Presently there are, in this aerodrome, about 11.500
movements (Landings + Taking offs) of aircraft/year.
