Welcome Cachers! Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Bjornson! Parking is available at: N44 55.829 W092 04.850 Please do not block the gate.

Bjornson is a wonderful place to enjoy nature. For those of you who are returning, the place will look a little different. The logger has been busy so there are more open areas (which means we get a little better satellite reception.) It also means that there are lots of branches to trip over. And, a working maple sugar shack has been build near the classroom so the students can see how maple sugar is made. For those of you who are entering Bjornson for the first time you're in for a real treat.

This cache introduces you to Bjornson. Please read the informational sign near the coordinates. You can also visit the website to learn more about this wonderful place.

You are hunting a good old ammo can. Reception here in the hills and ravines is often difficult so I try to give excellent clues. During the school year the children go everywhere, so please rehid the caches really well.

The bugs are out in force so bring plenty of bug spray. There is plenty of wildlife here, including bears. Drinking water is available at the classroom and in the campground. Both pumps work and the water is great! You can also drink the water from the springs! Pit toilets are unlocked but I'd recommend you bring your own toilet paper since I don't know if anyone checks that during the summer.

Want a trail map? I've added a photo of the trail map to the photos for this cache.

BEAR REPORT - Jim1830 gets the honor of being the first cacher this summer (July 15) to encounter a bear! And he cached on - tough guy!

Bjornson is alive with wildlife!!! Please be aware of your surroundings.
