How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Heading up Route 27 from Kingfield to Carrabassett Valley, turn right onto the Carriage Road, just after Tufulio's Restaurant.

Drive for 2 miles down the Carriage Road and then take a right at 45 06.028 070 11.948. After 2/10ths of a mile more, you will come to a large parking lot. A short walk down the road to your left and you will be on a bridge overlooking the falls.

To find the cache, take the very well-built stones steps just before the bridge, go a short distance along the trail, down a very short but steep slope. The cache is about 6' off the trail, to the right.

This is a 30 cal ammo can, loaded with things for young and old alike. FTF gets a FTF pin and a Maine AT geocoin. There is even a FTF prize for the first dog!

I think you can take the trails from here to the Poplar Stream Hut but I'm not certain, so don't follow me, I'm lost. For more information about the trails, dogs, huts etc see or the descriptions on my caches Maine Huts & Trails # 1 and # 2.

Please watch your children around the falls!
