Geocache Description:

Artsy Fartsy

[   by LinuxOnTheBrain  ]

This cache is located at the Hearst Center for the Arts. James Hearst, born and raised on a farm west of Cedar Falls, was an American poet sometimes described as the Robert Frost of the Midwest. The center, named after Hearst, houses a permanent collection of his writings as well as exhibits from other Midwestern artists. The Hearst center also hosts music recitals, art camps, community classes, studio space, and more.

You don't have to touch/move/look in/or otherwise disturb any of the art or sculptures to find this cache!

This is a two-stage puzzle cache with the first stage micro located on the Hearst Center grounds. (Please stay off the flowerbeds! You may use the sidewalk and the lawn as you locate stage one.) Inside stage one is an anagrammed clue. Unscramble the letters to find the location of stage two, the actual cache, which is somewhere within the Hearst Center building. You may wish to bring a notepad to work on the anagram and are welcome to find a seat on one of the garden benches. Another approach might be to wander through the galleries and corridors (main floor only!) of the Hearst Center to find an answer to the anagram. Either way, we hope you enjoy all the poetry, exhibits, sculptures, trees, and flowers along the way. Once you arrive at the answer to the anagram, you'll find the cache is pretty much hidden in plain sight!

Cache available only during Hearst Center hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 a.m.- 9 p.m.
Wednesdays and Fridays 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 p.m.
(closed Mondays)

Enjoy!
