Small moutain -
but great views.
This cache is
located on the flat mountain of Skardåsen, 1071 meter above sea
level. Though the summit itself is not very special. But the view
in all directions, is great.

The cache may be reached from
a number of locations. In addition to the one describes it is
possible to start from Grøslien yo the east, from a number of
summer farms south of the cache and also from Valdres Skisenter in
Skrautvål to the west.
How to get
there: Leave National
route 52 at Kollstad and take the public road system uphill to the
toll station at Ås (waypoint below) at
N

on the private road to
Etnelien (toll is NOK 40 in 2008, cards accepted). Then your GPSr
have to take you further to the start point for the easiest
access ( 4.8 kilometres round-trip) from southern Juviken
(waypoint below) at coordinates:

E 9º 18.556
Hint: Leave the main tollroad
and follow the sign "Juviken" to the parking.
From here a path can be
followed all the way to the top of Skardåsen. only araound 50
meeters aweay from the cache.
The Cache:
is a black Lock&Lock type box (10x15x5 centimeters)
with log, pencil, stashnote and a few items for trading.
There is also a FTF button in a plastic bag for the
FTF. |
