Pretty easy cache near a small lake.
Makkarajärvi on idyllinen pieni järvi Hervannan eteläpuolella. Kätkö on saanut nimensä huhti-toukokuun vaihteesta 2008, jolloin koko järvi oli täynnä kutevia sammakoita. Kesäkuussa nuijapäät uivat järvessä ja heinäkuun loppupuolella tuhansittain pikkuruista jälkikasvua kansoitti järven ympäristöä.
Autolla lähestyttäessä lähin pysäköintipaikka on Hervantajärven kupeessa. Pysäköintipaikalle johtavan tien varrelta lähtee hyvin merkitty polku Makkarajärvelle. Makkarajärveltä voit jatkaa esimerkiksi Taivalpirtille.
Maaston vaikeus riippuu paljon vuodenajasta. Talvella ja keskikesällä kuivana aikana polku on hyväkuntoinen. Keväällä sekä syyssateiden jälkeen polku taas on erittäin mutainen ja täynnä lammikoita, ja tällöin kannattaa käyttää vaelluskenkiä tai kumisaappaita.
Jos on todella paljon lunta, kätkö voi peittyä lumeen. Tällöinkin sen löytäminen pitäisi olla kuitenkin vihjeen avulla mahdollista.
Kätkön lähellä on hieno näköalapaikka koko järven ylitse. Toivon että se on reissun arvoinen!
Kätkö on 3 desilitran vetoinen muovilaatikko ja sisälsi kätköä perustettaessa jääkaappimagneetin ja muovisen Nalle Puhin pään.

Makkarajärvi ("sausage lake") is an idyllic, small lake near Hervanta. Lake was full of spawning frogs during the end of April - beginning of May 2008, and this cache was named after those frogs. Now their offspring can often be spotted near the lake.
Should you approach this cache by car, the closest parking area is next to Hervantajärvi ("Hervanta lake"). You can find a trail marked with a sign "Makkarajärvi" close to the parking area. After you have found the cache, you can continue your journey on various different trails.
A pair of hiking boots or rubber boots is recommended, as the trail is often muddy, and after rain there can be some water in the trail.
If there is lots of snow the cache may be hard to find. However, with the help of the hint it should be possible to find it throughout the year.
Near the cache you will find a great view over this nice like. Hope you will find this place relaxing and rewarding!
The cache is a plastic 0,3 litre box, and contained when the cache was placed a fridge magnet and a Winnie the Pooh plastic thingy.
