Geocache Description:

An easy cache outside one of the most famous railway stations in the world!!
It was during the construction of the railway here in 1863 that a workman discovered skeletons which proved to be first ever remains found of our Cro Magnon ancestors who were living, though probably not commuting, in these parts 35,000 to 40,000 years ago.

In the past in the UK we have had ‘Motorway Mayhem’, ‘A-Road Anarchy’ and ‘Village Vexation’ caches set up all over England. Most recently of all ‘SideTracked’ caches have been placed near railway stations. These are usually intended to be quick “cache and dash” finds for commuters and others using the trains.

This cache is a little off the usual commuting routes but you can catch a train every day from here for Paris! However, most of the trains passing through are just two diesel units long trundling between Agen and Périgueux.

THANKS TO Polo38 and others for putting g in fresh paper to serve as a log sheet. Very much appreciatedAnd a big THANK YOU to La Famille Pirate 22 for putting a new container and log sheet in place in August 2018 after the original key safe had gone missing. Your help in keeping, what I think is the only 'Side-Tracked' cache in France, in existance is most appreciated.
