Geocache Description:

PMC - Clueless Again?

A Puzzle Masters Challenge cache

PMC: PUZZLE MASTER'S CHALLENGE
This puzzle is part of a series of puzzles created by the greatest Puzzle Masters of the Mid Atlantic Region. There are a number of Puzzle Masters contributing to this series. Solve all of the Puzzle Masters' creations, follow the storylines, gather the clues and find the final. Will you accept the challenge?

Each puzzle is a unique work of art created and owned by each Puzzle Master/Puzzle Team. In each cache there will be a clue that you must gather and record. These clues will lead you to a final mystery cache located somewhere in the mid-Atlantic region. This series is designed to lead you on an epic adventure that will require Master puzzle-solving skills and extensive travel to unique locations. You must travel and log in at each cache in order to claim a find on the final. Due to the extensive time and effort put into this challenge, the cache can be done as a group but each member of the group must go to each cache site and sign each log. Dividing into sub groups and pooling their efforts will not be allowed.

Puzzle Masters Challenge Team PMC: The Final Challenge

THIS CACHE
The cache is NOT at the posted coords. There may be clues and red herrings anywhere! Read this page very carefully. For the first time, my tale is revealed:

When I was a young boy, my father told me an amazing story about a family secret that has been handed down from generation to generation. He only told me once and never mentioned it again. It concerned two brothers, a fantastic treasure (the last of its kind), the early 1700s, a Man who would do anything to get the treasure, puzzle pieces, a number of families, a bald eagle, a golden key, and a creek. Well, I was fascinated and hooked! In the beginning, I quizzed all my relatives, including my great grandpa- who all professed to have no clue! But I wondered if great grandpa knew more than he let on. Several years later as he was on his deathbed, he gathered my grandpa, my father, & me for a secret meeting. This is what he told us: "The time is right! Ask about the key!" I know he was going to say more but he passed away just like that. I thought, "Well this stinks! It sure is rotten! What kind of a clue is that?" As time went by we never got any closer to the treasure and my memories of those early events have faded somewhat- so they might not be completely accurate!

Finally, many years later, with the help of my son, a computer whiz, and my grandson, a math whiz, we racked our brains and were able to gather more information and crack the code. We found that we are one of the families with a hidden puzzle piece to the treasure. But just as we were about to grab our piece, we found out that HE is watching and waiting. It is now much too dangerous for any of us to go anywhere near our puzzle piece, but one of you just might be able to find it. This is what we know: Our piece is NOT hidden in the Bald Eagle Creek off of Rehoboth Bay. We were able to unearth a clue which should get you on the right trail:

Mh lmtkm zh 01100010 01100001 01100011 01101011 74 6f dGhl
98 101 103 105 110 110 105 110 103

Once you follow that trail (verified by the Geochecker), as a final safety measure, our puzzle piece is NOT in that location either, but is an offset. Bring a compass and your caching skills!

Will you be clueless again?

One last warning:

This quest is not meant for the casual puzzle solver or the faint of heart. IT IS a 5 star difficulty rating. We also found out that the treasure, The Secret of the Last Sixer (the end of Philly basketball??), as it is known by the locals, is well guarded by a wisp of a gypsy. DO NOT even think of searching for this treasure unless you have ALL of the puzzle pieces.

Please DO NOT give any hints in your logs on solving the puzzle or on the cache location!

Good luck on finding our puzzle piece AND on finding the priceless treasure itself!

Congratulations on a very impressive FTS & FTF to kailster
