One of three caches placed in this area. This ridge connects several areas from which you can enter - Simmons Creek, George's Creek, Coal Fork, Point Lick, Witcher Creek, Belle Hollow, and probably a few others. We entered via Simmons Creek, taking Hogpen Hollow Rd up the mountain. All three caches are best found in a 4WD or ATV as most of the roads are not suitable for anything else. Of course, you may also hike in but it will be a long hike. This is a great area for 4-wheeling. We love exploring all the roads and trails, some on the map and some not.
The cache is a medium-sized ammo can hidden near a fork in the road that on the map looks like a pitchfork. There is room to park at the intersection and the cache is just a short hike from there. Difficulty level of 2 is because not all of the roads on this ridge are mapped. Most of the year you will only see people on the roads in 4WD or ATVs but this is a popular hunting area so please re-hide the cache well to prevent it being muggled.
