Dans le coteau calcaire du petit village de St Arnoult (41), ce dispositif de levage en bois (unique dans la région), âgé de 250 ans, était utilisé pour acheminer les pierres taillées extraites dans la carrière inférieure. Le chargement était remonté par le puit d’accés (profond de 6m) pour être acheminé vers les chantiers de constuction, la machine étant manœuvrée à la main.

Cache : boite de pellicule avec crayon et log-book.

English version:

In the limestone hill from the small village of St Arnoult (41), the lifting device of wood (unique in the region), aged 250 years was used to transport stone extracted in the quarry below. The load was recovered by the manhole (6m deep) to be sent to construction sites, the machine being operated by hand.
