Easton-White Creek Lions Club Park Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

sandlanders: We were finally able to check on the cache this afternoon, and with no one else in the area, we spent quite a bit of time looking for the container here. Bugs were gone, water was nowhere to be seen, most of the leaves have fallen, but the prickly underbrush was thick in spots, so that wasn't much fun! We checked all possible hiding places within 100 feet and then some of GZ, but no sign of the cache. With previous mentions of finding it in the open, this cache may have walked home with someone at some time in the past year or so. (The park is busy at times.)

Eleven years for this cache is a good run, but things aren't what they used to back back in the woods here (the park itself is still a good place to visit), so we're going to archive the cache. Thanks to all who visited and made the search, and a special thanks to the late bugsmasher69 for hiding this one for all of us to find and enjoy.

Geocache Description:

The geocaching world lost Bugsmasher69 in November of 2013. His family offered his caches for adoption, and we took over this one that is close to us in Sandland.

Bugsmasher69 was a truck driver, and he cached all over the eastern and southern parts of the country, so his hides can be found all over, too, or at least all over Wisconsin. Those of us in the central part of the state were fortunate to have so many of his caches located within an hour or so of us, and there were many, many times that we returned home with a Bugsmasher hide or two among our day’s caching finds.

What follows is the original text on the cache page for this Bugsmasher69 hide:

"Located in the lions club park. It is a very pretty park with restrooms, playground equipment, picnic tables and shelters. The cache is located along a groomed trail so you don't need to do any bushwacking till the last 80 feet. Placed with permission by M. Williams."
