Série spéciale « lavoirs », l’hommage continue !
Ce lavoir appelé « le Lavoir de la Nine » parce qu’il est placé à proximité du Château du même nom ( 17ème siècle, tout en rez de chaussée, « à la chartreuse » - propriété privée), reçoit son eau d’une source passant par une énorme cavité en amont.
Sa particularité est la fenêtre qui permet d’admirer l’intérieur de la source.
Les inondations de juin lui donnent cet air de chaos, avec amas anarchique de cailloux.
En effet, le 11 juin 2008, des tonnes d’eaux se sont engouffrées dans le petit chemin qui monte à la route et ont tout dévasté sur leur passage, mettant à nu tous les tuyaux. Heureusement, le lavoir lui-même a résisté !
Notre voisine octogénaire se souvient y avoir lavé de la laine de brebis quand elle avait 15 ans…

“Wash houses” or “washing-places” special series, the tribute goes on!
This washing-place called “the Nine washing-place”, because it is located near the Mansion of the same name (17th century, all in ground floor, “Charterhouse-like” – private property) gets its water from a spring running through a huge cavity upstream.
Its particularity is the window allowing to admire the interior of the spring.
The June flood gives it its chaotic look, with an anarchic heap of stones.
Indeed, on June 11th 2008, scores of water rushed into the small path leading up to the road and devastated everything on their way, sweeping all the earth above the buried hoses.
Fortunately, the washing-place itself could resist!
Our octogenarian neighbour remembers washing ewe wool there when she was 15 years old….
