MORNING MEET AND GREET EVENT - 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

This year’s MORNING Meet and Greet opportunity will take place during the JANBOREE PANCAKE BREAKFAST. The coordinates given above are for the Waukesha Schuetze Recreation Center located along the Fox River. This is the hub of the JanBoree events this morning. There is a parking lot although it will see a lot of traffic this morning.

As you enter the building, turn to the right, we will be in the room at the end of the hallway. We will not be set up in the main room with the Pancake breakfast but you are welcome to purchase your meal and bring in to our room. (Meal purchases are not required.)

Come meet other Geocachers, share your geocaching stories, trade those travel bugs and share your special geocoins here! Geocoin trades are also welcome. If you do not like winter geocaching, you are most welcome to come and say hello! The Schuetze Recreation Center is wheelchair accessible, weather permitting.

The Pancake Breakfast includes all the pancakes you can eat. Seconds available for other amenities at a nominal price. Save 50¢ a ticket by buying them in advance at the Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department office. All tickets are non-refundable however. Adults (12 – 64): $5 ($4.50 in advance), Seniors (65+): $4 ($3.50 in advance), Children (under 12): $3.50 ($3.00 in advance), Children under 1 eat free!

GEOCACHING INTRO PRESENTATION
9:00 AM At the request of our event sponsors, AuntieNae will be doing a short Introduction to Geocaching presentation. If you are new to geocaching, she will give you pointers on how you can join us for part of the day.

GEOCACHES HIDDEN FOR THIS EVENT
We recognize there are folks that do not search for temporary caches. We recognize there are those that do. However, due to the efforts we put into hiding the temporary caches for this event, we do allow you to log them here on the event page if you would like.

TRACK ONE: DOWNTOWN Our event sponsors have hidden a series of 6 temporary caches (TREASURE HUNTERS) (as of January 23) through the downtown area. These will only be available on Saturday between the hours of 10 AM – 3 PM. (Please note, there will be one only available until 12 noon). Snow or cold, you and your family will enjoy these kid friendly hides. Park your car at any of the downtown streets or parking lots and walk to this series of caches and/ or use the free trolley service. (Free trolley runs from 9AM-3PM.) Find them, log them, find them, do not log them .. whatever, just have fun!

SPECIAL CACHE

An extra special temp cache, thank you to twoworldly, will be hidden at the local indoor waterpark hotel. Each family that signs in will receive 1 free day admission to the waterpark. See http://www.janboree.org/event12.html for further details. Bring your swim suit, perhaps after participating outdoors all day you will want to go indoors for the evening?

TRACK TWO: AROUND TOWN Around Waukesha. AuntieNae has planned a series of 11 HISTORICAL VIRTUAL caches. They are all "winter friendly", are all new for 2009, and will introduce you and your family to some of the historical and more unique things in Waukesha. Special thanks to "The Tapps Sr & Jr" for assisting with marking coordinates and "GR8 Eyes" for assisting with some of the historical research. Find them, log them, find them, do not log them .. whatever, just have fun!

REGULAR CACHES Around Waukesha, there are plenty of geocaches - be sure to download files prior to coming! We will NOT have this data available for download. Be sure to check out the 2 new EarthCaches recently created.

BRING YOUR CAMERA We will have a locationless cache to make things fun!

COORDINATE DOWNLOADS

Please be sure to THANK our “crack crew” of ”Coordinate Downloading Volunteers:” Jeremy, Gr8 Eyes, Lego Lover and notmuch who are once again volunteering to assist us with downloading the event coordinates to your GPSr's from 8:00-9:30 AM. Limited downloads MAY be available at Mia's during our afternoon meet and greet.

If you have not found the many geocaches in the Waukesha area, you will want to load these caches in your GPSr prior to coming as we will not be offering those in download or handout format.

AFTERNOON MEET AND GREET EVENT - 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM

Pizza anyone? MIA's Restaurant (N 43 00.639 W 88 13.961) will host our afternoon meet and greet! A Pizza lunch special - is being offered to allow for a quicker lunch experience. price $3.50 per "slice" which will be approximatly 1/4 of a pizza - same price as 2008!! They will have 5 different types of pizza to choose from.(Insiders Tip: The garlic bread is AWESOME.)

Come meet other Geocachers, share your geocaching stories, trade those travel bugs and share your special geocoins here! Geocoin trades are also welcome. If you do not like winter geocaching, you are most welcome to come and say hello! Meal purchase is not a requirement to attend.

REGISTRATION WILL NOT CLOSE. We do ask that if you are planning to come or might be, that you post a will attend or a note, with your number of adults and children a) MORNING MEET and GREET -letting us know if you plan to stay so we have enough seats, b) can have enough handouts prepared for each group and c)AFTERNOON MEET AND GREET - so we can give MIA's a head count for lunch preparation purposes.

All participants will need to complete and turn in a registration form at sign in. A linky is included here to the Registration Form in Word format. Forms will also be available at check in. Click Here to download the form

*Special thank you to the Wisconsin Geocaching Association for loaning us the cables to download to most GPSr's.
