This is a quick and easy cache in the little highland town of Newtonmore near to Loch Imrich, a peaceful little loch surrounded by quiet woods. The origional cache was hidden by the shores, but was muggled when the footpath was re-built. The cache was then moved to a small hollow filled with trees, very near to the Loch, but the trees in this hollow were all cut down , so the cache is now in its 3rd location, once again next to the loch .
Loch Imrich was once used for curling many years ago when the winters were cold enough for it to actually stay frozen for months on end, and be thick enough to do a bit of curling! Sadly, that sport has now passed on, but there are still the remains of the old curling club hut, by the shores, which you will see if you walk all the way round the Loch.
Loch Imrich will make a nice, peaceful, very short walk for anyone. Ideal for young families. More information about local walks in Newtonmore can be found here
Loch Imrich with ice
This is our first cache placed in the Highlands as we are from Edinburgh so I hope you enjoy it!
