Øresundsregionen,som er en af Europas mest dynamiske grænseregioner, består af Danmark øst for Storebælt og Skåne i det sydligste Sverige. Regionen har totalt 3,6 millioner indbyggere.
Storkøbenhavn og Stormalmö har tilsammen 1,8 millioner indbyggere, hvilket er Skandinaviens største sammenhængende byområde.
Øresundsbroen som forbinder byerne blev indviet i juli 2000 og er ca 16 km lang. Dagligt passeres broen af 15.000 pendler (kilde: tendensoresund.org).
Nærheden til såvel storby som natur og landsbyer gør regionen attraktiv. En veludviklet infrastruktur gør regionen lettilgængelig. Der findes et fritidsliv med et righoldigt udbud og et godt velfærds system med gode sundheds og boligtilbud.

Øresund region, which is one of Europe's most dynamic border region, consists of Skåne in Sweden and Sjælland, Lolland-Falster, Møn and Bornholm in Denmark. The region has a total of 3.6 million inhabitants.
København and Malmö together have 1.8 million inhabitants. This makes the København-Malmö area
to Scandinavia's largest continuous urban area. The Øresund bridge that unites the cities was inaugurated in July 2000 and is about 16 km long. About 15 000 people commute across the bridge every day (source: tendensoresund.org).
Both urban and rural nature make the region attractive and a well developed infrastructure makes the region easy accessible. There is a rich leisure with multifaceted offerings and also a well-functioning welfare system with great health care and good housing.
