Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES I placed this cache in the winter of 2009 when the sun was at the highest point in the sky. When I consulted my navigational almanac I noted that there was no needed correction for the equation of time at noon. My chronometer was set to Greenwich Mean Time and the time when I placed the cache was 18 hours 23 minutes and 13.428 seconds. That night, I used my sextant and determined the angle between Polaris, the North Star and the horizon. After correcting for Polaris not being exactly due north, I found the angle between the horizon and the celestial north pole was 0.5187255 radians. The FTF will inherit a somewhat less accurate chronometer than mine. Wow, Fendmar was the FTF this difficult hide and it was in the dark!!
