FINDERS, PLEASE HELP ME ENSURE THE SECURITY OF TRAVEL BUGS THAT VISIT THIS CACHE BY AS DEEP AS POSSIBLE IN ITS HIDE AND REPLACING THE STONES IN FRONT. Cache is on the small side, about 4"x6" and about 3" deep, so it can't handle large bugs, or large quantities of bugs, but it should fulfill most of your travelers' needs.
This cache was originally part of a Podcacher contest, but the contest has ended. As the cache seems like a popular TB destination, in an area that has few, we decided to re-purpose it a bit, but keep it active.
Cache is placed in the North Woods of Central Park, an idyllic area of the park that is less "landscaped" than the lower sections. The North Woods have a wild and untamed feel, and there are sections of it where you can forget that you are in a highly urban area. The tree coverage, especially in the area known as the Ravine, is so dense that the skyline is completely blocked, and no noise from the city penetrates. Nearby is the Harlem Meer, and the beautiful but often overlooked Conservatory Garden. The North Woods and surrounding areas also feature several great caches that get less attention because they are in a higher section of the park, but since you are in the area, please check them out as well!
Cache is primarily designed for travelers. There area few other items of swag in and out, but please keep that to a minimum.
The cache is hidden on the North side of the Springbanks Arch, one of the arches required for addisonbr's Bridges and Arches of Central Park cache. You'll have to do a minor bit of climbing to get to the hide.
