Geocache Description:

Follow the red dot on white blazed trail to the top of the mountain. From there continue to follow the Ramapo-Dunderberg trail Shortly after crossing a grade of the Dunderberg Spiral Railway you come to Stalter’s Spring.

John Stalter was a woodcutter from Doodletown. In 1907 he laid pipe from this spring to the workers who were building the new state road from Jones Point to Bear Mountain. Sections of the pipe can still be seen if you follow the stream downhill.
